Currently BRAINbait is free for everybody. Since this site is in beta testing, I want to prove the need and usefulness of this platform before charging any fees. Don’t worry students, my goal is to roll any potential subscription fees in with your tuition, department costs, or school fees so you can save your money for beer…I mean books. If your school isn’t on-board, we’ll keep our subscription price at a minimum and you will only pay on a per semester basis.
Nope. You can go to your normal job posting sites for those. We are separating ourselves by allowing you to work instantly on a job, task, or project without ever having to apply and from the comfort of your own home…or dorm room.
No. Resumes are completely optional and are just another way to show a business what you have learned in school and on BRAINbait. Remember, businesses can also use this platform as a hiring/vetting tool, so a resume will only enhance your appeal to outside employers.
We break it down into 3 project types: Daily Task – Simple, straight-forward, and fairly easy. This project type will most likely be first come, first served and will cover the day-to-day tasks of a business. Small Job – Normal, entry-level stuff. Nothing that would take more than a few hours. This project type is a great introduction for those interested in getting their feet wet. Mini Project – More robust, intricate, and detailed jobs that will take a higher level of commitment and skill. This project type is great for group work or those looking for more advanced work experience.
We have terms of agreement in place to try and eliminate this from happening. We also remind students to only submit screenshots of your work until the business has paid you to access your complete files and original work. We understand that there might be rare occasions where a business may attempt to copy your work without paying. If you can prove that you submission was used by the business without receiving the agreed upon compensation, we’ll foot the bill and pay you the reward in full (once we start making money that is). In the meantime, the business in question will be suspended indefinitely from using our site.
Currently, businesses can pay you using PayPal or Zelle. Be sure to include your PayPal or Zelle email address when filling out the Submission Form.
We recommend uploading your files to Google Drive and creating a shareable link that you can submit to the business if your submission is chosen and you have received payment.
The more the merrier. Currently you can only submit a solution through one user account until we build up our platform to allow group submissions, so it will be up to you to split the reward.
** DISCLAIMER: since BRAINbait is in it’s infancy, we are not charging any user from using our site. We want to prove the value of this platform before we start seeking revenue, so please spread the word so that we can build up this platform to offer you even better services and functionality. **
